PCO licence renewal process for London
PCO Licence Renewal
A PCO license in London is a special permit for drivers who want to work for private hire companies. This license allows you to drive minicabs, private hire vehicles, and some app-based ride services like Uber. To get a PCO license, you need to pass some tests, have a clean driving record, undergo a medical check, and pass a background check.
It’s different from a taxi license, which lets drivers pick up people on the street. The PCO license helps ensure drivers are qualified and that passengers stay safe when using these services. But after every three years, the license needs to be renewed. Here’s how you can do that.
Submit the Renewal Pack forms to TfL
You will get a PCO license renewal from TfL around four months before the license expires. Read everything thoroughly to understand what you need to do. You have two options to renew your license. Renew online through TfL’s website, which is usually faster. You can also fill out the paper form and mail it to TfL. Choose the method that works best for you.
